RAISED BY JOROPO.
FORGED IN METAL.

Darwin grew up in Villavicencio, a city known as “La Puerta del Llano” where the mighty mountains of Colombia end and the vast region of the Llanos begins.
Surrounded by Joropo, the traditional music from these endless plains, he picked up the Cuatro at the age of 9, and quickly fell in love with the instrument.
Performing throughout his early years with fellow musicians from Colombia and Venezuela, he participated in countless contests and festivals that pushed him to take his playing to the next level, eventually becoming a Cuatro soloist.
Self-taught drummer, growing up to the sound of legends such as Cholo Valderrama, Kraken, Stratovarius, Dream Theater, Angra and many more, he embraced both Joropo and Metal as a means to feel and create music.
In 2009, Darwin joined Cimarrón, a Grammy-nominated Joropo band from Colombia and toured around the world, gaining priceless experience in the context of World Music.
In 2014, he moved to France, and is now dedicated to his solo career, opening new spaces for the Cuatro, for Joropo and for the culture that made him what he is.
